What is Trademark Defender? – Have you ever made a miscalculation on your account balance and had a transaction rejected? If so, not only were you charged an insufficient funds (NSF) fee from your financial institution, but the merchant may have also charged you a fee. To make it worse, late fees could have been assessed if the rejected transaction was a payment on a credit obligation.
With Trademark Defender you can avoid the late fees, merchant NSF fees and the potential embarrassment or impact to your credit standing! Your account remains in good standing with your payees, and you have financial peace of mind for your transactions. The Trademark Defender service will honor transactions up to a certain limit, which is determined individually. We use a variety of factors, such as: account balance amounts, NSF history, age of account, etc. Each time you use Trademark Defender to complete a transaction, we will assess a $25.00 fee. There is no limit to the number of total fees that we can charge you for overdrawing your account – you control the level of activity.
Trademark Defender’s practices – We pay overdrafts at our discretion, which means we do not guarantee that we will always authorize and pay any type of transaction. If we do not authorize and pay an overdraft, your transaction will be declined.
You must authorize us to pay overdrafts for the following types of transactions:
Checks and other transactions made using your checking account number.
- Automatic bill payments
- ATM transactions
- All debit card transactions
